Our Adventure at the "yake"

What a month it has been. Whirlwind is the best way to describe our lives right now! I'm currently taking a break from packing to get in a quick post so you'll know we haven't forgotten!

This past weekend we went up to Canyon Lake (or the "yake" as Brock refers to it) for some family fun. My dad rented a house and we spent 4 days enjoying typical Texas weather!!! Saturday and Sunday were absolutely FREEZING!!!!! Monday and Tuesday we were wearing tank tops and even built up the courage to get in the lake!

Brock had the time of his life with all the deer! Of course with the drought Texas is experiencing, that also means there is not nearly enough for these little guys to eat! They were so hungry, and so tame! At one time, we actually had 26 deer surrounding us and a few even ate the corn right out of Brock's hand! Uncle Jeff teased that they may be starving now, but they'll all be on Jenny Craig by the time Brock leaves!!

Brock did not so much enjoy his first boat ride. The wind speed against his face and the roar of the engine scared our little boy and he spent most of his trips hiding and covering his ears. It was quite sad. He did manage to get a few fishing casts in.
Aubree was just a little bathing beauty. Mom finally got some SUN! And Dad was able to reunite with his fishing poles. (It had been a while!)

The Siblings

All in all, it was great fun. Tomorrow we're heading up to Dallas after work to spend the night with Cousin Allison before heading to Arkansas Saturday morning. Aubree's first major car ride...wish us luck!

A big thanks to Dad & E for a nice and much needed getaway at the Lake!
